Parents remove children school because of WIFI

A mum has removed her children from school over fears the WiFi in the building was making them sick.
Alisa Keane from Downpatrick, Co Down , was dealing with recurring health problems with her sons, James, Conn and Dara.
They suffered severe headaches, nausea and problems with flagging and erratic concentration when in class but the symptoms vanished after spending an hour or two at home.
Alisa, 45, a trained teacher and communications expert, told Belfast Live: “I was very concerned about them. The issues seemed more pronounced with James who is the oldest, but all three boys were struggling with the same problems.
“When James told me he just couldn’t think in school I was really concerned. He said he could only think straight when he was at home.
“This was from a very bright boy who loved to learn, he loved to participate but he was really struggling. He was even getting annoyed with his class mates when they chatted because it broke his concentration and he was feeling generally irritated. But once he was home, the fog lifted and he was able to get down to his work happily.
“But he often felt nauseous and had a runny nose from an inflammatory problem which took longer to ease off and by the time it did, he’d be back in class and the problem would start again.
“Their dad Mark and I noticed a pattern had developed and the only difference between their surroundings in school and home was that we had no WiFi at home, we use the Ethernet which is hard wired.
“I started researching to see if it was possible that radio frequency radiation, the RF/EMF that delivers WiFi to us, could be an issue and I learned that in their little primary school they had two industrial sized routers for 23 iPads.
“The more I researched the more concerned I became. I kept thinking about James telling us that he just couldn’t think straight in school.
“I discovered Lloyds of London had dropped their insurance cover for WiFi use, and then discovered shockingly that the World Health Organisation International Agency for Research on Cancer classified wireless WiFi radiation as a Group 2B ‘Possible Human Carcinogen’.
“Then they outlined how children’s bodies absorb wireless radiation deeper into their bodies than adults.
“And what Dr Victoria Dunckley said worried me immensely. She explained WiFi in a classroom is constant, occurring all day every day, because signals are emitted by the access hubs even when the devices are not in use.
“She explains that the signals produced are also much stronger than those produced by your average home WiFi hub because the amount of bandwidth required to accommodate a large number of users.
“And in a school setting, multiple devices tend to be in use at once, which she says causes EMFs to reverberate and magnify one another.
“On 26 May 2017 I hand delivered a letter to the principal, including 20 scientific studies and reports on the adverse health effects from WiFi and wireless radiation.
“In the letter Mark and I asked for the WiFi in the school to be turned off, we asked that we receive the school’s risk assessment for WiFi emitting devices and associated equipment.
“We also asked for their risk assessments for asbestos and lead and the Certificate of Indemnity from the schools insurance provider and underwriters confirming that any damages or adverse health effects from WiFi/wireless radiation were covered.
“A couple of weeks later the principal, wrote to us stating: ‘As an employee of CCMS and in this capacity, I have made all reasonable enquiries into your request and have decided to continue to use WiFi in school.”
“Mark and I offered to pay to have the Ethernet installed in the school at our expense but it was turned down.”
A Freedom of Information request revealed that Tim Matchett, Head of Managed Services at C2k which is part of the Education Authority, confirmed that after contacting colleagues, contractors and staff within the wider EA, no risk assessment in relation to WiFi was held on file.
Alisa explained: “We discussed with the boys what we thought we should do to see if removing them from the school building would help. They were open to the idea and trusted us.
“So we took the boys out of school as a precaution. Their health and welfare is the responsibility of their parents, myself and Mark. We won’t take any risks with that especially when the risk of WiFi is unnecessary.
“Within one week we noticed a vast difference in their health. Their headaches and nausea were gone, the runny nose and what appeared as allergy symptoms cleared up and they were all able to concentrate and focus.
“What they learned went in and stayed in. They were happy and healthy and that has not changed in the last year.
“We arranged play dates with their school friends and because as brothers, there are only three and a half years between them, they play together too. They go swimming and to Jiu Jitsu together and are very content.
“To be honest I was amazed by the difference in their health and even more so because it improved so quickly.
“So I have become their teacher and it’s working out very well. It is not something I expected to do but I had to put their health first. Our hunch that they were sensitive to the WiFi in their school building appears to be correct and I know other parents who have concerns about the exposure.
“It has been deeply disappointing to know that the school and the CCMS did not act, did not accept our offer to pay for a different system and continue to have pupils exposed. It was just not a risk we wanted to take.”
Alisa said she was concerned about a number of potential dangers now associated with WiFi exposure including the :
- Contribution to the development of insomnia.
- Damage to childhood development
- Affect on cell growth
- Derailing of brain function
- Neutralising sperm
- Possible impact on fertility
- Provoking stress on the heart
- Links to breast and brain cancer
Catholic school board accommodate son’s Wi-Fi injury

A Mississauga mother says she is protesting the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board (DPCDSB) so her son can go to school.
Paulette Rende’s goal is to raise awareness about electro-hypersensitivity (otherwise known as Wi-Fi injury) and the need for digital device safety in Ontario schools.
“It’s a bigger problem than people realize,” said Rende.
Her son Alex, 17, a student at St. Paul’s Secondary School in Mississauga, suffers from electro-hypersensitivity. She says he has a “broad spectrum of symptoms,” including: headaches, congestion, heart palpitations, anxiety and nausea.
“To the detriment of students and teachers, the provincial government has been that ostrich with its head in the sand, ignoring the glaring gaps in health and safety guidelines,” said Rende in a release.
According to Women’s College Hospital (WCH), electro-hypersensitivity is a condition that develops when people are exposed to non-ionizing radiation from electromagnetic fields, such as high-energy radio waves and microwaves.
Common sources include cellphones, baby monitors, cell towers, plasma televisions and Wi-Fi, says WCH. The hospital operates an Environmental Health Clinic (EHC), which is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, for people with chronic complex environmentally-linked conditions such as chronic fatigue syndrome, multiple chemical sensitivity and electromagnetic-hypersensitivity
Rende is hoping a change in provincial government will lead to changes in school policy. She says other school boards across the province are having the same issues with Wi-Fi injury.
“I’m here (protesting) at a local level,” Rende adds.
“We understand and are sensitive to the safety concerns some community members have regarding the use of wireless technology (Wi-Fi) in schools,” Bruce Campbell, the school board’s manager of communications and community relations, said in an email.
“The health and safety of our students and staff is paramount to us. As with all public health issues, we take direction from our public health agencies,” he added
The board began Wi-Fi installations in late 2012, and since then have conducted yearly tests to measure radio frequencies using Health Canada’s Safety Code 6 standard, as a guide, said Campbell.
Currently, he said, tests indicate that the board’s schools are measuring significantly less than one per cent of the minimum standard defined by Health Canada. This is 99.99 per cent safer than Health Canada’s defined minimum standard.
Campbell said the board will “continue to rely on the expertise and standards of organizations like Health Canada, Peel Public Health and Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Health to guide our use of technology, from a health perspective, in our schools.
“We are well aware of the specific concerns of this parent and have offered and/or provided numerous accommodations to try to meet the needs of the family,” Campbell said.
“These have included online courses, and having a teacher come to the home. We continue to reach out to them and are currently in the process of trying to set up a meeting to review the results of environmental testing carried out specifically in relation to their concerns at the school.”

- Electromagnetic fields (EMFs) from cell phones, cell phone towers, wireless Internet, power lines, household electrical wiring and more can trigger serious symptoms, including headaches, fatigue and confusion, in people who are electrosensitive
- There are a number of factors that influence the degree to which you may be affected by EMFs, and your level of heavy metal toxicity is likely one of them
- Heavy metals in your brain also act as micro-antennas, concentrating and increasing reception of EMF radiation
- Any kind of metal implants and/or amalgam (silver) tooth fillings will significantly increase reception of microwaves, and the mircrocurrents from cell phones and other ambient fields
By Dr. Mercola
Electomagnetic fields (EMFs) are all around us, no matter where you live these days. They emanate from power lines, televisions, household electrical wiring, appliances and microwaves.
They come from cell phones, cell phone towers and wireless Internet connections.
It is estimated that 3-8 percent of populations in developed countries experience serious electrohypersensitivity symptoms, while 35 percent experience mild symptoms, according to Dr. Thomas Rau, medical director of the world-renowned Paracelsus Clinic in Switzerland.1
There are a number of factors that influence the degree to which you may be affected by EMFs.
For example, your body weight, body-mass index, bone density, and water and electrolyte levels can alter the conductivity and biological reactivity to EMFs. Heavy metals in your brain also act as micro-antennas, concentrating and increasing reception of EMF radiation.
How Heavy Metal Toxicity May Make Electrohypersensitivity Worse
The issue of heavy metal toxicity in relation to electromagnetic toxicity may be one of the most significant. According to Dr. Yoshiaki Omura’s research, the more your system is contaminated with heavy metals from silver amalgam fillings, eating contaminated fish, living downstream from coal burning power plants and so forth, the more your body becomes a virtual antenna that actually concentrates radiation, making it far more destructive.2
And as noted by Theresa Dale, PhD, CCN, NP:3
“Heavy metals can weaken our field through their frequency outputs by modulating compatible frequency components of the body resulting in a weakening of the field thereby causing unhealthy biochemical changes. If you have accumulated toxic metals in your brain, and since your brain is an antenna, you can actually receive more cell phone radiation, which in turn can cause the microbes in your system to overreact and create more potent mycotoxins.
This can create a never-ending vicious cycle between the microbes and metals in your body and your exposure to electromagnetic fields, which can lead to hypersensitivity. I have seen that a high percentage of illness including chronic infections are caused, and/or aggravated, by electromagnetic field exposure. Then chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia and other chronic pain syndromes can easily develop or worsen.”
Likewise, any kind of metal implants and/or amalgam (silver) tooth fillings will significantly increase reception of microwaves, and the mircrocurrents from cell phones and other ambient fields. In case you’re wondering how to detect electrohypersensitivity, the five most common symptoms are:
- Skin itch/rash/flushing/burning, and/or tingling
- Confusion/poor concentration, and/or memory loss
- Fatigue and weakness
- Headache
- Chest pain and heart problems

6 shocking health hazards of Wi-Fi
The invisible Wi-Fi waves are wrecking your health without your knowledge.
Whether one is a netaddict or not, staying without internet connectivity for too long sure gets us nervous. It’s a modern nightmare. So every cafe, library and club in town lures you in with promises of free Wi-Fi, so you never have to stay away from the internet for too long. This very moment, as you read, you are being bombarded with these invisible. Have you ever wondered whether Wi-Fi has any impact on your health? A science experiment conducted by Danish schoolgirls showed that garden cress wouldn’t grow around a Wi-Fi router. If plants react this badly to Wifi, how well would the human body fare?1 Wi-Fi can cause testicular DNA damage
A study published in 2016 in the Journal of Chemical Neuroanatomy studied the effect of prolonged radiofrequency radiation emitted from Wi-Fi devices on various organs of rats. The study revealed that although the waves didn’t have much impact on other organs, they did affect the testes of the rats. The researchers concluded that the testicles were more sensitive to radiofrequency radiation. Here are some ways in which technology is affecting your health.
2 Wi-Fi raises oxidative stress levels
Another 2016 study published in the same journal had more disconcerting news. Excessive electromagnetic exposure — like from Wi-Fi devices– causes elevated levels of reactive oxygen substances (ROS) and reduced antioxidant defence system in the body. These could lead to oxidative brain and liver damage in human beings. The study conducted on rats concluded that the brain seemed to be more sensitive to oxidative injury compared to the liver in the development of newborns.2
3 Wi-Fi can disrupt kidney development in foetus
In 2004, the journal Bioelectromagnetics conducted a study on Wi-Fi exposure and found that it could lead to delayed kidney development in newborn rats.
4 Wi-Fi affects sperm motility
A study conducted in Argentina and published in the journal Fertility and Sterility in 2012 showed that Wi-Fi had the potential to alter sperm motility. Sperm samples of 29 healthy men were taken. Half was placed under a laptop and the other half elsewhere. Around 25 percent of the sperm from the semen sample placed under the laptop was found to be damaged and immobile. Here are some other things that affect sperm quality.
5 Wi-Fi causes insomnia
Maybe your insomnia doesn’t stem from stress at work. The culprit could be your Wi-Fi router. In 2013, a study described the effects of 900 MHz unmodulated and 900 MHz modulated Hz waves on the brain of rats who were sleeping. Researchers found out that just one hour of exposure to radiation every day for one month caused rats to experience a delay before went into the REM stage or deep sleep. Many people are also turning off their routers at night for a good night’s sleep.
6 Wi-Fi could be responsible for causing cancer
Constant exposure to electromagnetic fields can also pose a cancer risk. The first study in 1979 reported that the children who died from cancer lived in homes that had a higher exposure to electromagnetic fields than the others. There could also be a possible link between higher breast cancer incidences electromagnetic fields.

‘IT MAKES THE SICK SICKER’ Mum claims ‘Wi-Fi allergy’ drove her daughter to suicide as she appeals for it be banned from schools and hospitals
Debbie Fry’s daughter Jenny was found dead in woodlands near her Cotswolds home when she was just 15
A MUM who claimed her teen daughter took her own life after being in constant misery due to a Wi-Fi allergy is fighting for wireless internet to be removed from every school.
Debbie Fry said her 15-year-old daughter Jenny suffered from tiredness, headaches and bladder problems every time she was near a wireless router.
Jenny took her own life when she was just 15
The teen was found dead in woodlands near her home in the Cotswolds, Oxfordshire, in 2015, with the coroner recording a narrative verdict on her cause of death, as there was no medical proof Jenny suffered from Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity Syndrome (EHS).
But Debbie is now on a mission to have Wi-Fi removed from all schools and hospitals – saying Government plans to introduce internet across the NHS were disastrous.
She told Gloucestershire Live: “They are planning to put in something that makes the sick, sicker.
“There’s some urgency to which the whole of the UK’s population needs to be told this technology is not as safe as we are led to believe.”
The teen’s mother is now campaigning to have Wi-Fi taken out of schools and hospitals

Mrs Fry, who will now be one of the speakers to address a public health talk in Stroud over the weekend, had previously told the inquest into her daughter’s death that Jenny had suffered from a mystery illness for three years before her death.
She said: “Jenny was getting ill and so was I. I did some research and found how dangerous Wi-Fi could be so I had it taken out of the house.
“Both Jenny and I were fine at home but Jenny continued to be ill at school in certain areas.”
She vowed to keep fighting against having Wi-Fi in nurseries and schools, urging the government to research EHS.
